Donnie McClurkin Meets with Local Church Leaders

Meeting with fellow church leaders whenever he visits a country is the norm for   Gospel Superstar Donnie McClurkin.

Guyana was no exception as the Board Room of the Princess Hotel slowly filled up with Pastors and lay-leaders representing churches in Georgetown.

The 9am scheduled meeting got started at 10:25, with the speaker himself requesting an additional 10minutes to deal with some important administrative matters.

McClurkin spoke with these gathered in the room as “brothers” and not as some great leader expected to bring eye opening revelation to the masses.

Unity of Churches, personal healing and the power to change  were among the leading lines of this discourse.

This fruitful presentation included interaction with the audience and came to a conclusion at 11:45 just after an appeal from one Pastor for the return of Donnie to speak to a larger group, this he agreed to and promised to return for this purpose in the near future.

Donnie McClurkin Comes to Guyana

The Following is an extract  from Guyana Times-

On January 20, the Guyana National Stadium is expected to be ignited with high class ministry, as one of the most well known Gospel singers and ministers, Donnie McClurkin will be performing. It will be a night of anointing and giving thanks and praises to the Almighty.

The event is already gaining momentum, and according to officials of Guyana Telephone Company Limited, it will be one of the biggest Gospel concerts ever to hit the shores of Guyana. The Pastor/Minister will be accompanied by his entire 19-man band and they are expected to arrive in Guyana on January 19.
The event will also feature local gospel artistes, including Mariam Williams, Cherlyn Maloney, Enid Benjamin, along with some other local bands from various parts of the country.
The event will go ahead as scheduled and GT&T is not worried about the boycotting rumours that have been circulating.  “This event is for Guyanese and more so Christians as a whole. It is a time to reflect on what God has done for us over the years and come together to celebrate our achievements,” one official noted.
Persons interested in attending the event are encouraged to pick up their tickets early at various locations. Cost for the tickets are $1500 general adults admission while children under 10 will pay $800 and persons wishing to be at stage front will pay $3000.
These tickets are available at Usuf General Store, Lakes Electronics in Linden; Imran and Sons in Berbice; Gismos and Gadgets, All GT&T business offices in Georgetown, and M&M Snackette at the Demerara Harbour Bridge.
Tickets can also be picked up at any of the local artistes who will be performing on the night of the event.

About Donnie McClurkin
Donnie McClurkin is a gospel vocalist with the soul of Andraé Crouch and the contemporary flair of Kirk Franklin. Born into a home filled with domestic violence and drug abuse, McClurkin was rescued by an aunt who sang background vocals with Crouch himself.
After staying close to Crouch throughout his boyhood, he began to play piano and sing with his church’s youth choir. He formed the McClurkin Singers by the time he was a teenager, and later formed another group, the New York Restoration Choir.  Hired as an associate minister at Marvin Winans’ Perfecting Church in 1989, McClurkin endured a bout of leukemia that year. A friendship with a Warner Alliance executive resulted in his signing for the label for his 1996 self-titled album, with producers Mark Kibble, Cedric and Victor Maxwell plus Andraé Crouch.

LEGACY FREEDOM FEST

There is yet another exciting event in the making and we are happy to bring it to you as reported on the Legacy Site.
“Monday, August 1 at 6:00pm at Love and Faith World Outreach Ministries, Georgetown, Guyana
Legacy Management Agency will once again host another event geared towards providing healthy entertainment coupled with anointed ministry – a brand that Legacy has become known for since its recent establishment. Titled “Legacy Freedom Fest 2011″, the event will be in the form of a concert headlining Jadee, a renowned gospel artiste out of Trinidad. Jadee’s ministry is an electric multicultural blend of contemporary Caribbean and urban American music Styles. The concert will also see the return of Hoszia Hinds from Barbados who was here for The Real Easter Jam 2011. Both ministers are known for their high energy, spontaneity, and a heart of worship. And that’s not all: some of the best and upcoming Guyanese music ministers will grace the stage as we all celebrate, not only Emancipation Day in Guyana, but our freedom as Christians from sin and moral corruption. Guyanese ministers include: Ocie Thomas, Cross Carriers, Dynamic Flames, Christlike Soldiers, Breaking the Barrier, Julian Bynoe, Purpose Driven Youths, and the Second Coming band. Tickets are $1000 and go towards a larger Legacy event scheduled to take place later in the month of August. We look forward to seeing you there and joining with us as we celebrate true freedom. This is the ideal event for entire youth groups to attend, so it’s still early to mark and save the date on your calendars. Please also help to spread the word and invite your friends, especially if they are non-Christians or haven’t been to church in a long time. If you would like Legacy Management Agency to visit your church to talk about this event, or you would like to reserve tickets in bulk (starting from 15 tickets), please contact us right here on Facebook or by emailing legacyagencygy@gmail.com. You can also call Eworth Williams on 687-1341, 225-1210 (during office hours), or Alain Scott on 677-2381.”
